On this hiking trip in Tyrol, you'll discover breathtaking panoramas of mountains and glaciers, idyllic landscapes with flowery meadows and deep pine and larch forests. The contrasts are as striking as the mountains are spectacular, and nature is also characterized by small alpine farms surrounded by meadows where cows with bells graze. Nature is bountiful in Tyrol. A multitude of flowers and insects flourish on the unspoiled hillsides. Many flowers we know well from our gardens and rockeries—buttercups, asters, saxifrages, bluebells, and primroses—grow wild here. We live at the bottom of the valley, surrounded by mountains on three sides. The hikes begin right outside the house and lead us between towering peaks, jagged summits, and bluish-white glaciers. We stay on marked trails of moderate difficulty and relatively easy terrain, winding through valleys, between meadows, forests, and mountainsides. Thanks to the ski lifts, we easily overcome significant changes in elevation and thus enjoy the opportunity to start or end the day at altitude. Along the way, we rest in welcoming and peaceful inns, where we have a drink or a snack. On other days, we simply find a bench or a stone to sit on in the heart of nature, preferably by a stream or with a particularly beautiful view.

Transportation

You can take the train from Ørestad, Odense, and Kolding. Check the timetables for Austria. The train journey to Austria is operated by the Swedish company Snälltåget. You board in Denmark and travel the entire route without changing trains. The train's interior is a bit dated, but it remains functional and comfortable. You travel in 6-person compartments with seats and berths.
Note: it is possible to reserve the lower berth in the compartment for an additional fee.

Schedule changes
Disruptions may occur due to track work carried out by Banedanmark during the summer holidays. This work may result in slight timetable changes or the provision of shuttle trains on some routes in Denmark. These shuttles will be operated by Ruby Rejser, in coordination with Snälltåget. A seat is guaranteed for all passengers. Timetable changes and the provision of shuttle trains do not entitle passengers to a refund or cancellation of their booking.
